Joseph Thomas Mixan, age 69, passed away on June 6, 2026, at his cottage on Big Crooked Lake. Loving father of Kathleen (Eric) Vari, Colleen (Matthew) Mikaitis, Kevin (Amy) Mixan, and Mary Kate Mixan (Thomas Creagan). Longtime companion of Kathy Trainor, cherished grandfather to Sadie, Margaux, Charlie, Eve, George, Philip, Brennan, Teddy, Stella, and Evan. Loving brother of Maureen (Keith) Buechner, Mary Carol (Dennis) Bertrand, Peter (Kerry) Mixan, Rosemarie (William) Nolan, fun-loving uncle of many nieces and nephews, and lifelong member of the IBEW Local 134. Memorial gathering on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Donellan Funeral Home 10525 S. Western Ave, Chicago from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Family and friends will gather directly at Most Holy Redeemer Church 9525 S.
