Lawrence Peter Keller OBITUARY

Lawrence Peter Keller, age 89, of Gurnee, formerly of Waukegan, passed away peacefully at home on May 19, 2026 surrounded by family.

Larry is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Regina (nee Paulson), his children, Dan, Robert (Joann), Richard, Meg (Mark) Rapplean, Jennifer (Farrukh Naqvi) Keller, daughter-in-law Sharon; and grandchildren: Mattie (Joe) Cravens, Drew (Taylor) Rapplean, Patrick Keller, Sean Keller, Emma Rapplean, Robert Keller, Marle Rapplean, Nasir Naqvi, Saira Naqvi; brother-in-law/ friend Ray Paulson (Charlene), many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Lawrence Patrick Keller, brother Joseph S. Keller, parents and many family and friends.

Larry was known and loved by many, whether you knew him as Dad, Papa, Pops, Uncle Larry, Bossman, or Big Lar, he was a presence who was present in each of our lives.

He loved to build, develop, and create things, whether it be business, buildings, or his vineyard. He was a proud Husband, Dad and Grandpa.

Larry, from an early age, along with his brother Joe, hauled fish from the commercial fisherman of Waukegan Harbor to the Chicago markets, growing Keller Cartage into Keller Trucking along the way.

They continued to expand their interests into commercial real estate development, which is where he excelled.

During this time, he and Regina continue to grow their family, love, partnership, and faith.

Throughout his life, he demonstrated strength, humor, goodness and love to all who were lucky to know him. He leaves a living legacy in each one of us.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson Foundation.

Visitation for Larry will take place from 4pm to 8pm on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Gurnee Salata Funeral Home, 4190 old Grand Ave. Gurnee, IL 60031. Funeral Mass will begin at 10am on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at St. Anastasia Church, 624 Douglas Ave. Waukegan, IL 60085. Burial will immediately follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL.
