Linda J. Cavallari OBITUARY

Linda J. Cavallari, 71, a resident of Grayslake, IL, passed away June 23, 2026 at her home. She was born May 12, 1955 in Waukegan, IL to Richard and Dorothy Krapf. Linda is survived by her children Reverend Nicholas Cavallari and Laura (Tom) O’Connor, her grandchildren George O’Connor and Keir O’Connor, and her siblings Richard (Jan) Krapf and Cindy (Neal) Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband George Cavallari. Linda grew up in Waukegan, IL. She moved to Evanston, IL for college. There she obtained her degree in Nursing and began working in the NICU at Evanston Hospital. Linda met her husband, George, through a hospital co-worker. They were married in 1978 and moved to Northfield, IL where George’s family owned the Willow Inn Club restaurant. After starting a family, Linda became a stay-at-home mom. She was active with her kids and in her community, especially her church, St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. She helped run church events, like their annual rummage sale, and was a dedicated member of the church choir. She and George shared a loving marriage until his passing in 1996. Linda then moved up to Gurnee, IL to be closer to her parents and siblings. She enjoyed grabbing a cup of coffee with her parents, watching her brother act in a play, or taking a trip to Wisconsin with her sister. During this time she also adopted two of her most beloved pets, her dog, Bunny, and her cat, Junebug. When Linda retired she moved to Grayslake,IL where she got to focus on her grandkids and favorite hobbies. She loved spending time with her grandkids, reading, and taking trips up to Madeline Island, WI with her kids. A memorial visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. A memorial mass is scheduled for Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at St. Gilbert Catholic Church 301 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030 at 11:00am. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the University of St. Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary or the Grayslake Public Library.
