Lorraine R Koshgarian OBITUARY
Lorraine Redis Koshgarian was born on August 8, 1931, and lived 94 wonderful years until she passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026, at home with her family and loving husband, Herb, by her side. Lorraine met the love of her life, Herb, at Lyons Township High School in 1947 and was married for 74 years. They were blessed with five children: Terry, Chuck, Sue, Kathy and Laurie. Their relationship is a testimony of the vows they said when they were married, “In sickness and in health, till death do us part”. An indomitable soul with a loving spirit, she lived a rich life supported by her children, grandchildren (10) and great grandchildren (20). Although times could be hectic with five kids and a family business to run, Lorraine was a constant supporter of Herb and did her very best to accommodate and participate in her children’s lives. She was involved in the activities her kids enjoyed and always supported them. Mom was also our friend. As we were growing up, it was important to her to treat our friends as if they were part of our family. Our mom taught us how to love one another and to be patient and kind. She cherished the times spent with all her children, whether it was a birthday party, school programs, snow skiing in Vail, the beaches in Florida, yearly road trips across the country or our backyard swimming pool. An avid reader, gardener, crossword puzzle enthusiast and decorator extraordinaire, one would never know where the couch would be! She kept the household running smoothly and dedicated herself to us. Mom lived a life that continually amazed and inspired those she touched. She cherished her lifelong friends and sisters, cousins, aunts and uncles. She is preceded in death by her youngest sister, Carolyn, while her oldest sister, Jackie, lives in Texas. Herb will forever be her greatest cheerleader, her constant companion and devoted spouse. A member of Christ Church of Oak Brook, Lorraine will be missed here on earth, but her spirit will surround us. We shall remember her with love and be assured that she has moved on to a place of beauty and peace. The service will begin at 11:00 am, Monday, June 29, 2026, at Adolf & Powell Funeral Home, 7000 S. Madison St. Willowbrook, IL., with a visitation preceding from 10:00-11:00 am. Private Internment immediately follows at Bronswood Cemetery. Our family will be forever grateful to the loving, compassionate and empathetic staff of Visiting Angels, St. Thomas Hospice and Christ Church of Oak Brook.
