Louis McKinney OBITUARY

Louis McKinney was born on December 20, 1939, to Calvin and Gladys McKinney in Sardis, Mississippi and in 1940 they relocated to Gary, IN. On June 17, 2026, at home, Louis peacefully entered eternity. Family members were by his side. Louis graduated from Roosevelt High School, Gary, IN. He married Gloria Walker in 1991. Louis was employed with the Gary Sanitary District for fifty years. Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Gladys Mckinney; sister, Gloria Jean McGhee; brother, Alvin Gary Mckinney; grandson, Darryl Mckinney. Louis leaves to Cherish his memories: wife, Gloria, three sons: Derrick (Carla) Merrillville, IN, Darryl and Ronnie, Gary, IN.; one daughter, Angela Pyo, (Steve) Merrillville, IN. six grandchildren: Derrick, Elijah, Brittany, Marcus, Aubrey and Noah; sister, Shirley Williams, Franklin, WI; two brothers, Larry McKinney, Merrillville, IN, and Derrian (Lisa) McKinney, Crown Point, IN. and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation and Funeral Service will be Tuesday June 30, 2026 at Smith Bizzell and Warner Funeral Home 4209 Richard Gordon Hatcher Blvd. Gary, IN 46408. Visitation will begin at 9:00am and will be immediately followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00am. Interment will take place at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN.
