Mary E. Neimer OBITUARY
Mary E. Neimer passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Mary was raised in Skokie and Lake Forest. She was the beloved daughter of the late Frank and Lillian O’Beirne and graduated from Niles Township High School. Mary was the cherished sister of Tom (Pam) O’Beirne and Ron (Gloria) O’Beirne, and was preceded in death by her sister, Jeanne Blowers. She also leaves behind one beloved niece and many cherished nephews. In 1965, Mary married the love of her life, Harold Neimer. Together they shared 60 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on love, family, and laughter. They were proud parents of Nicholas Neimer and Noelle (Brendan) Callahan, and loving grandparents to their treasured grandson, Keenan Callahan. After graduating from college, Mary began her career as a social worker in Chicago, serving the community for three years. She later spent more than 20 years as an editor at Arthur Andersen. While she was proud of her professional accomplishments, Mary’s greatest joy came from raising her children and spending time with her family. Mary loved dogs and never met one she didn’t adore. She enjoyed playing tennis, an occasional round of golf, and above all, sharing laughter with those around her. She will be remembered for her kind heart and wonderful sense of humor, which brightened the lives of everyone who knew her. Private family services will be held.
