Maureen Murphy Ann Andrews OBITUARY

Maureen Ann Andrews (née Murphy), of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, at the age of 77.

Born in Chicago on January 17, 1949, to Bernard and Mary Louise Murphy (née Murtaugh), Maureen grew up on the South Side of Chicago. After living briefly in California and Texas, she settled in Westmont, Illinois, where she lived for more than 27 years with her husband, Corey Andrews. Married in 1994, Maureen and Corey moved to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea in 2019, a community they had long loved as vacationers and seasonal residents.

Maureen was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Bernard Murphy and Thomas Murphy. She is survived by her husband, Corey; her brothers Daniel Murphy and James Murphy (Dina Meyer); 17 nieces and nephews; 15 grandnieces and grandnephews. Especially dear to Maureen were her goddaughters Melissa L. and Kaitlyn L, and niece Abby who often visited her in Florida.

She was a loved and trusted friend to many, especially Phyllis B., Jacey D., Mary Lou M., Debbie S., Debbie K., Fran B., and Linda D. and greatly enjoyed the company of her friends and their many visits, long phone conversations and pool visits.

A graduate of Mercy High School in Chicago (1967), Maureen earned her bachelor’s degree from Elmhurst University in 1999. She will be remembered for her kindness, warm heart, sense of humor, and the joy she brought to family and friends.

A celebration of Maureen’s life will be held at a later date.
