Michael J. Klimas, of Flossmoor, Illinois, died peacefully at home on June 14, 2026, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (nee Ballance). Loving father of Katherine (Adam) Haussermann, Victoria (Luis) Ochoa and the late Rebecca Klimas. Beloved grandfather of Cora, Sophie and Henry (Haussermann), and Thomas, Lillian, Alex, Christopher and Andrew (Ochoa). Beloved brother of David (Jan) Klimas and Joseph Klimas. Beloved brother-in-law of Charlotte Ballance. He is also survived by two nieces, a nephew and many cousins. Mike was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Mike was born in Chicago Heights, Illinois at St. James Hospital to Edward and Leocadia Klimas. He attended St. Agnes and Marian Catholic High School. He graduated from Southern Illinois University and then received his law degree from Chicago – Kent College of Law. After retiring from the law practice, he shared with his wife Elizabeth, Michael cherished spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. His humor, kindness and generosity touched everyone he encountered. While he will be deeply missed by many, his words of advice and encouragement will stay with us forever.

Visitation and Mass Saturday, June 20th from 9AM until time of mass at 10AM at Our Lady of the Heights (St. Kieran’s Church), 724 W. 195th Street, Chicago Heights, Illinois. Interment: Private.
