Nan Barsotti, a beloved mother, grandmother, and lifelong learner, passed away peacefully in her home in the Beverly neighborhood of Chicago on April 9th, 2026. She was surrounded by love and the lasting legacy of the life she lived with thoughtfulness, humor, and generosity.
Nan is survived by her three children—David Barsotti, Steven Barsotti, and Jenifer Pratt-Barsotti—who carry forward her values of compassion, curiosity, and service. She was also the cherished grandmother of seven grandchildren: Chris Barsotti, Anthony Rosian, Alyssa Rosian, Alexis Rosian, Zara Barsotti, Rumi Barsotti, and Lucca Barsotti, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
A passionate reader and tireless seeker of knowledge, Nan nurtured a deep love of learning that defined her life. Whether it was literature, history, or the workings of the world around her, she found inspiration in ideas and was always eager to share what she had discovered.
Nan was also committed to giving back to her community. She generously donated her time and expertise by providing tax services to several local arts organizations, combining her professional skills with her deep appreciation for the creative spirit. Her life was guided by kindness, integrity, and an enduring curiosity. She will be remembered for her warmth, intellect, and the quiet strength with which she supported those around her.
A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Green Burials of Love, Marion Friel-Funeral Director. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to local arts and humanitarian organizations in her honor. Info: 847-721-0322
