Patrick Edward Dwyer II, of Chicago, Illinois, died at home surrounded by his family on July 23, 2026, aged 86. Beloved husband of Carol (nee Kaiser) Dwyer, father of Noelle (Paul Yates) Dwyer, Patrick Edward Dwyer III, and Sean (Julie) Dwyer. Beloved grandfather of Aidan and Keira Yates, and Ella, Max, and Lucy Dwyer. Cherished son of the late Francis and Virginia (nee Knotts) Dwyer. Loving brother of Monica (James) Fox and Michael (Geraldine) Dwyer, and the late Kathleen (James) Sampson, William Dwyer, and Mary Christine Dwyer. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pat was truly a South Side Irish boy. He graduated from St. Ignatius College Prep, Loyola University Chicago, and DePaul University College of Law. For over 50 years, he dedicated his career to representing injured workers and individuals. He started his own law firm, served in the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and founded with friends the St. Ignatius Law Society. He was a lifelong athlete, golfer at Olympia Fields Country Club, and devoted Loyola Ramblers fan.

Pat’s greatest joy was his family and friends. Pat was a man of faith, integrity, and warmth. Everywhere he went, friends found him. He took enormous pride in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren, and will be deeply missed and remembered for his generosity, charm, and humor.

Visitation Monday, July 27, from 5–8 p.m. at Donnellan Funeral Home, 10525 S. Western Ave., Chicago. Church visitation Tuesday, July 28, 9:30–10:30 a.m., followed by Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Old St. Patrick’s Church, 700 W. Adams St., Chicago. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chicago Jesuit Academy, the St. Ignatius College Prep scholarship fund, or Loyola University Chicago Athletics (basketball).
