Phyllis M. Gruchot, age 95, passed away at home on Sunday, May 17, 2026 with family by her side. She was beloved wife of Aloysius J. Gruchot for 62 years, until his death in 2022. She was the loving mother of Roseanne, Paul, and John, and mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother to their spouses, children and grandchildren. She was the dear sister of her late brother, Joe Jankiewicz, beloved sister-in-law to Al’s brothers & their wives, and aunt to their children and Joe’s daughter. A graduate of St. Xavier college [49ers alumni member], she taught elementary school for several years, and was previously a professional secretary. After marrying Al, she became the mother and homemaker that all came to love. She was an avid bowler and golfer, but also enjoyed crafts like crocheting, plus had a particular fondness and affinity for painting. A visitation is set for Saturday, May 23rd from 9:00 am to 10:15 am [prayers at 10:15] at McGann Funeral Home, 10727 S. Pulaski Rd., Chicago. Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Linus Church, Oak Lawn.
