Richard J. Duda Jr. OBITUARY

Richard J. Duda Jr., age 69 of Bristol, IL, passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2026, at his home. Richard was born on June 11, 1956, in Hinsdale, IL, the son of Richard and Arline (Corel) Duda.

Richard was united in marriage on July 16, 1988, to Barbara Bender and they spent the next 37 years happily together.

Richard is survived by his wife, Barbara Duda of Bristol, IL; his children, Nicole (Kyle) Dhuse of Yorkville, IL, and JP (fiancé Breanne Barbanente) Bender of Somonauk; two grandchildren, Jaxon Bender and Brantley Bender; his father Richard J Duda Sr. of Naperville, IL; and his four siblings, Wendee Thiel of Plainfield, IL, Lonnie Duda (Robert O’Bear) of Plymouth, IL, Ronnie (Candice) Duda of Plano, IL, and Angela Stork, of Lisle, IL.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Arline Duda, his Goddaughter, Ashlee Nolan, and his Brother-in-Law, Frank Thiel.

Rich was owner and operator of the family business, BNR Construction in Bristol, IL. When he wasn’t spending time with his soulmate, Barbara; Rich was surrounded by friends and family. He had lifelong passions for pool, serving as captain for his team Blast from the Past since 1989; riding one of his many Harleys or Rat Rods, and working in the outdoors. Rich was a caring man known for having the biggest heart. Highly loved and respected by his friends and family, Rich will be truly missed.

Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday June 12, 2026, at the Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL.

A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday June 12, 2026, at the Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL. Interment will be private.
