Rita Donna Collins “nee Rondo” OBITUARY

Rita Donna Collins, née Rondo, of Parkland, Florida, formerly of Gary, Indiana, was born on December 27, 1948, and passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026. Rita retired from the United States Social Security Administration and will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, unwavering faith, and her lifelong dedication to helping others. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Ira Lee Collins; her parents, Peter and Nola (Williams) Rondo; her sister, Debra Thomas; and her brother, La Rue Rondo. Rita is survived by her loving daughter, Iris Leesa (Gabriel) Cruz; her grandchildren, Noah Cruz and Iriel Cruz; her sister, Muriel Hanks; her bonus children and grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Visitation Friday July 10, 2026, from 12:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. with Funeral service Saturday July 11, 2026, at 10:00a.m. all services at the Guy & Allen Chapel 2959 West 11th Avenue Gary, Indiana 46404. Interment Fern Oaks Cemetery.
