Ronald W. Eberly OBITUARY

Ronald W. Eberly, age 82 of Sugar Grove, IL went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 8, 2026 at Prairie Pointe Assisted Living in Sugar Grove, IL. He was born in DeKalb, IL on January 13, 1944 the son of Irvin and Ruth (Feltz) Eberly.

Ronald was united in marriage on July 25, 1969 to Miss Diane Clauss and they spent the next 50 years happily together until her passing on February 3, 2020. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Ron was employed as an ironworker in the Aurora Local 393 until his retirement. After retirement he spent his free time with family, especially enjoying attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and school activities. Ron and Diane also enjoyed driving his prized 2004 Corvette to regional car shows or just out for a Sunday drive. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Ron is survived by his children, Heidi (Dave) Trillet of Sugar Grove, IL and Monte (Kathy) Eberly of Lake Wales, FL; his five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his siblings, Ann, Judy, Kathy, Rolf, Irv, David, Rob, and Rich; and his many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Ruth Eberly; his wife, Diane Eberly; his son-in-law, Tom Raitt; and his brother, George.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL. Interment will follow in Elmwood, Yorkville, IL with Military Honors.

Friends may visit from 9:00 AM until the Hour of Service on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at the funeral home in Yorkville, IL.
