Sandra Halla Brinlee OBITUARY
Sandra Halla Brinlee, age 65, of Aurora, IL and Tellico Village, TN passed away surrounded by friends and family on May 31, 2026.
Born on February 1, 1961 in Long Beach, California and grew up in Aurora, IL. Sandi and her brother, John, were raised by their mother, Joan, following the sudden passing of their father when Sandi was 11 which may explain much of her fierce independence and fortitude.
Sandi was a loving wife of 39 years to her husband, Tim. Sandi spent her career treating cancer patients as a medical dosimetrist while supporting her family, friends and many dogs (Fergie, Millie, Tesa, Phoebe and a few litters of puppies to boot). Nothing in the world made her more proud than seeing her 2 sons grow up, and being a loving grandma to her granddaughter, Natalie. She was also a lover of horseback riding though she didn’t go enough.
In retirement, Sandi and Tim moved to Tellico Village in Tennessee where Sandi discovered a new passion, dragon boat racing and spending time on the lake. She was also an active member in local church groups, and a loving caregiver to her mother. Sandi was an excellent seamstress and before passing created quilts for her sons, Eric and Alex, and baby blankets for granddaughter, Natalie, and grandson expected in June, for which they will be forever grateful. Sandi was universally beloved by all who knew her, and known for her infectious positivity, energy and love through times good and bad. Her radiating smile which brightened our hearts will be dearly missed. Like her brother, she shared a love of hummingbirds and sparrows.
Sandi was preceded in death by her father, Louis Halla; her mother Joan (Ohlrich) Halla Stransky; and her brother John Halla.
Sandi is survived by her husband Tim of Tennessee; her two sons Eric of Colorado and Alex of Maryland; her granddaughter Natalie and soon to be grandson of Maryland; her uncle Rick of California.
Celebration of life services will be held in Tennessee and Illinois later this summer with details to follow when available.
In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations in Sandi’s honor be directed to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org) to support future medical research in the fight against pancreatic cancer. www.clickfuneralhome.com.
