Terrence A. Gurney, 75, of Murfreesboro, TN (formerly of LaGrange, IL), passed away suddenly on April 9, 2026.

Terry began his career at Accurate Felt and Gasket, working alongside his brother Bill for ten years before moving into audio engineering. He cherished his time as Theatre Director at Nazareth Academy until his retirement in 2016.

Terrence is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen O’Hara; his son, John; his brothers, Dennis (Patricia) and Don (Edna); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, William (Ruth).

Terry spent many years behind the soundboard, working with Kathy O’Hara, Diana Laffey, and numerous other bands throughout the Midwest.

A celebration of Terry’s life will be held on Saturday, May 30, at 11:00 AM at the Nazareth Academy Alexine Chapel, 1209 Ogden Avenue, LaGrange Park, IL, with a luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers, Terry’s family is accepting donations in his memory to establish a charity supporting young artists.
