Thomas Edward Williams Sr OBITUARY

Thomas E. Williams Sr., age 83, passed away on the morning of Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at his home near family in Rockford, Michigan. Born February 16, 1943, to Elmer and Alice (Barrett) Williams in Chicago, Illinois. A graduate of Fenwick High School’s class of 1961 and went on to study at Loyola University Chicago. Tom served his country as a U.S. Army Reservist and remained committed to support for veterans through his life. He married Joanne (Baron) on September 30th, 1967, and together they raised four children: Tom. Jr. (Julie), Kristin (Mark), John (Heather), and Kevin (Jennifer). Their family was blessed to grow to include six grandchildren: Olivia, Cullen, Keely, Maisy, Eleanore, and Ian. In retirement, Tom and Joanne spent over two decades in Florida, first in Coral Springs then in Winter Haven. An avid fan of all things Chicago, Tom cheered on the Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks most fervently. He was a founding member of the Wheaton Briarcliff Baseball League in Wheaton, Illinois.

He is now reunited with his parents, Elmer and Alice, and his brother Jim. He is survived by his wife Joanne and their four children and families, who carry him forward.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either Folds of Honor or Tunnels to Towers. Services will be Friday, June 19th at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Chicago.
