Veronica Lee Lawrence OBITUARY

Veronica Lee Lawrence OBITUARY

Veronica Lee Lawrence (née Renaud), age 81, a longtime resident of Naperville, Illinois, went home to rest in Heaven after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on March 25, 1945, in Aurora, Illinois.

Veronica is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Michael Lawrence; her children, Brian (Lynn) Lawrence, Jennifer Lawrence, and Mary Lawrence; her grandchildren, Elizabeth (Emilio Hernandez) Lawrence, Rachel Lawrence-Foster, Lauder Hansen, and Jack (Kayla) Hansen; her great-grandchildren, Serafina, Adelina, and Emilio Jr. Hernandez; her siblings, Cathy Fansler, Tom Renaud, Paul Renaud, Vicki Morales, and Michele Renaud; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her youngest grandson, Owen Hansen; her parents, Arthur and Elizabeth Renaud; and her brothers, Tony Renaud, Michael Renaud, and Mark Renaud.

Family was Veronica’s greatest joy. She loved to get together on holidays, Sunday dinners, birthdays, and family gatherings. She was always thinking of others, whether it was leaving May baskets on neighbors’ doors or finding simple ways to brighten someone’s day.

She served as a Cub Scout leader, Girl Scout leader, was a room mother in her children’s classrooms, and participated in Awana Club at church. She loved volunteering in the kitchen at Silver Birch Ranch in northern Wisconsin during summer camp. She enjoyed jogging, running several 5K races, walking her beagle AJ down gravel roads, and many memorable camping adventures with her family. She built a successful career as a real estate broker.

Nothing made Veronica happier than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She rarely missed a concert, soccer match, or football game. She never forgot a birthday and treasured every opportunity to be with them. She enjoyed making macramé gifts, became a published author of poetry, loved fishing, and thrift shopping for hidden treasures. She loved Charlie perfume, chocolate shakes, and Chicago hot dogs, and she ended every visit with, “I love you, a bushel and a peck, a bushel and a peck, and a hug around your neck.”

Her faith was the foundation of her life. She often reminded her family to look to Jesus and held close the promise of Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord. Even during her battle with Parkinson’s disease, she never complained and faced each day with faith, grace, and courage.

Veronica will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering faith, and the deep love she had for her family. She will be missed always, loved forever, and remembered every day. While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing she is now home with the Lord, free from pain.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, 4:00-8:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, IL 60540.

A celebration of Veronica’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 10:00 AM in the funeral home.
