David Russo, who currently serves in Skokie’s Fairview South School District 72 as both the assistant superintendent and principal of Fairview South Middle School, has been hired as the assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction for Lincolnwood School District 74 starting next school year.

Russo, who has been with School Dist. 72 since 2005, will replace Kim Nasshan, who will leave her role as assistant superintendent next school year to take over the school district as superintendent. The current Supt. Joseph Bailey is set to retire June 30, 2017, according to information on the School Dist. 74 website.

Under the terms of his one-year contract, approved by the school board Dec. 1, Russo will start on July 1, 2017 and earn a salary of $155,500.

Nasshan currently makes $185,000 for the 2016-17 school year, according to school district data.

“Having worked in Niles Township for over a decade, I am familiar with the outstanding schools in Lincolnwood School District 74 and the supportive community it serves,” Russo said in a written statement about the administration changes posted on the Lincolnwood School Dist. 74 website.
