Larry Brand, Wheaton Central–The 6-foot-7 1/2-inch senior forward had 17 points and 10 rebounds in a 47-38 victory over Naperville Central and 31 points and 9 rebounds in a 72-65 overtime loss to Hinsdale Central.
Robyn Davis, Proviso West–The 6-4 senior forward had 25 points and 12 rebounds in a 69-57 triumph over Hinsdale Central and 15 points and 7 rebounds in a 54-37 victory over Highland Park.
Lowell Hamilton, Providence-St.Mel–The 6-7 senior center had 28 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocked shots in an 86-44 victory over Quigley South and 31 points, 15 rebounds, 9 blocked shots and 5 assists in a 79-75 triumph over St. Gregory.
Tracy Wilson, Homewood-Flossmoor–The 6-3 senior forward had 23 points and 9 rebounds in a 72-54 victory over Thornridge and 28 points and 16 rebounds in a 67-49 triumph over Lyons.
Kathy Schweiger, Glenbrook North–The 5-9 senior forward was named most valuable player in the York Tournament, leading her team to the title with 71 points and 25 rebounds in three games. Her top single-game effort was 37 points.
WRESTLING
Ron Bednarczyk, Marist–The senior pinned three opponents to win the East Suburban Catholic Conference 145-pound championship and improve his record to 28-2-1.
Dennis Donovan, Glenbard East–The 105-pound competitor became the first freshman to win a Du Page Valley Conference championship and boosted his record to 29-4.
Matt Sherman, Sandwich–The 119-pound senior won five matches, improving his season record to 26-0 and his career mark to 104-18.
BOWLING
Dawn Zelensky, Reavis–The senior led her team to championships in the Evergreen Park sectional, where she bowled the meet`s top six-game series of 1,063, and the 18-team Eisenhower Invitational, where she posted the meet`s top three-game series of 650, including a 224 game.
