CBS Inc. said it plans to sue Ziff-Davis Publishing Co. for allegedly overstating the earnings of the 12 magazines that Ziff-Davis sold CBS earlier this year for $362.5 million. William Ziff Jr., chairman of the executive committee of parent Ziff Corp., called the CBS complaint ”absurd” and without basis. CBS said it will file the suit in New York state court.
