Frank B. Hall & Co., a New York insurance firm, said it expects to write off $50 million to $75 million on its investment in Jartran, the troubled trucking unit. The company said its investment in Jartran was about $98 million at July 31. Hall said it is considering various methods to dispose of Jartran and that there is no assurance it will be able to dispose of Jartran as a going concern.
