When–Thursday, 7 p.m. (Chicago time).

Television–WLS-TV (Channel 7).

Radio–WIND-AM (560).

Rollow`s pick–Chiefs by 3.

Latest line–Raiders by 1 1/2.

Significant injuries–Raiders: OT Shelby Jordan (groin). Chiefs: OT Matt Herkenhoff, Achilles tendon; NT Bill Maas, elbow; S Deron Cherry, ankle; LB Gary Spani, knee.

Outlook–This will be a real test for the ambitious Chiefs, who opened their season Sunday with a smashing 47-27 rout of New Orleans. The Raiders, of course, are far superior to the Saints and boast a 22-3-1 record when playing on prime-time television.

Sources in Kansas City say the Chiefs are ”very confident but not cocky” about their chances of upsetting the Raiders. ”We`re good enough now to play and beat any team in this league,” says quarterback Bill Kenney.

John Mackovic has done a phenomenal job of turning around the Kansas City team since he left the Dallas Cowboys` staff three years ago. The 1984 Chiefs won their last three games, and the momentum apparently is continuing to build.

Ageless Jim Plunkett is back at quarterback for the Raiders because he doesn`t make many mistakes. Marcus Allen scored a league-high 18 touchdowns last year and scored twice Sunday in the Raiders` 31-0 rout of the New York Jets. Dokie Williams, who had five catches for 131 yards against the Jets, has replaced Cliff Branch as the Raiders` big-play receiver.
