The eldest child of Robert Kennedy said Sunday she expects to announce her candidacy for Congress in about a month and will run as her own candidate, not as a Kennedy.
Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, 34, an attorney, will oppose Republican Rep. Helen Bentley for the Baltimore County seat.
”I`m planning to run by myself so they know me, Kathleen Townsend,” she said, adding that she has the endorsement of the state`s Democratic Party.
