Burroughs Corp. said about 900 workers will be laid off through plant closings and consolidations. It will close manufacturing plants in
Cumbernauld, Scotland, and Carlsbad, Calif.; shut down an engineering and development facility in Boulder, Colo.; and shut its power supply division in Coral Springs, Fla. The moves are to cut costs and improve productivity, the company said.
