Communications Satellite Corp. (Comsat) said it lost $41.5 million in 1985 despite record revenues, mainly because of an $84 million write-off. It was the first loss in the company`s 24-year history. Revenues rose 15 percent, to a record $459 million. Operating income was a record $103.9 million, up about 11 percent from 1984.
