Skin is in, and if you have any doubts, take a look at some of this summer`s au courant party people–the hard core at the Hard Rock Cafe opening. Those on the cutting edge exposed necks, shoulders and other strategic spots via cutout dresses.
Bared backs were particularly in vogue. So was skin-tight leather. Putting the two together was the ultimate.
In fact, the look was so popular that the event felt more like a sexy, upscale biker convention than the opening of a rock `n` roll cafe.
You might have expected a lot of `50s get-ups at the opening, since the restaurant lists Elvis` favorite foods on a plaque on the wall, among other things. But our survey turned up only one truly `50s ensemble.
It was little matter.
And somehow we don`t think Elvis would have been disappointed either. —
