I applaud the grand jury in its decision not to indict Prentice Rasheed, the man whose store had been burglarized seven times and who finally took matters into his own hands to protect his person and property. The burglar who was killed deserved it.
It`s about time there was some justice in this country. Criminals have more rights than innocent people, who are no longer safe on the streets, in their homes or businesses. People should have the right to protect themselves and their property.
Citizens like Mr. Rasheed and Bernard Goetz should be applauded, not criticized (or tried). They are the new heroes of rn Avenue) but a clean, bright, pleasant-smelling kennel. Instead of the surly, ”couldn`t care less” personnel of the past, we found caring, informed attendants who were most helpful. The practice of 50 dogs to a cage (sick mixed with well) was replaced by individual kennels which equaled the best in the country. There are veterinarians on staff, and each animal receives its shots when it arrives at the shelter.
