Machine tool orders dropped 26.3 percent in November to $132.7 million from the $180.2 million in October, according to the National Machine Tool Builders` Association. Metal-cutting machine tool orders in November fell 35.8 percent to $83.9 million from the $130.8 million reported in October. Metal-forming equipment orders fell 1.1 percent to $48.7 million from the $49.3 million the month earlier.
