Our Earth is filled with the bones of nations that turned their freedom against themselves (when the Vandals and Visigoths poured over the walls of Rome, it wasn`t because the walls were low, but Rome itself was low).
America may be getting into the same condition due to abuse of the First Amendment. A band of journalists in Washington and New York seems to delight in savaging presidents and peddling government secrets. Day after day, they paint a malignant picture of this God-blessed land.
In recent years we saw them destroy Lyndon Johnson as a warmonger. Richard Nixon was labeled a crook, Gerald Ford a stumbler and Jimmy Carter an amiable dolt. Now the rat pack drools for Ronald Reagan`s scalp.
This might all be fun if history did not shout that nations which are programmed to hate their chosen leaders soon disappear.
