The Playground Daily News, a 42-year-old newspaper based in Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., changed its name to the Northwest Florida Daily News. The newspaper told its readers it was giving up the term ”playground” in part because other promotional names for its area were catching on, including Emerald Coast.
