I would like to add my protest to that of Sallie Lea Jorgensen in The Tribune regarding the proposed ”lean-to” to the front of the Hancock Building. It is so totally out of keeping with the architecture and the concept of the building that such a proposal (it is hoped, only a proposal)

makes no sense.

I also want to voice my opinion of the winning design for the new Chicago Public Library building. How such a design could be accepted is beyond my belief. To me it is top heavy, overdecorated and archaic and sits like a wedding cake in the midst of Chicago`s world-famous collection of renowned buildings.
