The same copy of The Tribune in which Tammy R. Kaplan deplored ”five terrorist attacks against Israel” carried a story about a small Arab child being shot to death by an Israeli policeman. There are weekly stories in The Tribune about Israeli raids into Lebanon, a recent one relating the bombing of a school and the deaths of 21 Arab children. As long as one of the largest and most active military powers in the world continues to attack a civilian population, concentrating its attacks not upon military targets but upon the innocent, able-bodied people will retaliate.
Israel will unfortunately not have a monopoly on violence.
