The following is taken from a recent column by Stephen Chapman: ”The sort of lawbreaking that endangers people and property is being ignored so that police and prosecutors can try to prevent exotic powders from going up noses.”
What Mr. Chapman is overlooking is the fact that these ”exotic powders” are perhaps the greatest endangerment to people society has had to face in recent years. The violent and criminal behavior of drug addicts is not merely a result of the high price of drugs, but largely a result of the inevitable disintegration of the users` minds.
Perhaps the legalization of drugs would eliminate the dealers and even the use of assault rifles associated with this business. Unfortunately, Mr. Chapman, the only thing not eliminated is drugs.
