We`re not sure it qualifies as a cultural event, but at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in Jonquil Playlot (at the corner of Lincoln, Sheffield and Wrightwood) a softball game will take place bwteen the cast of ”Les Miserables” and the staff of WXRT (93.1 FM).
We`ve seen the WXRT team play before in similar matches. It`s a solid outfit. The ”Les Miz” gang, though they talk of having played three games in Washington, D. C., against the cast of ”Me and My Girl” (not mentioning final scores), is not a 16-inch pack.
And though they claim they`ve been practicing with the 16-inch softball, for which Chicago is famous, the ”Les Miz” bunch will fall to the local radio gang. At least that`s our bet.
