Florida Leisure Acquisition Corp., a company that owns Weeki Wachee near Tampa, is bidding for the six theme parks that Harcourt Brace Jovanovich Inc. put up for sale. Golder, Thoma & Cressey, a private equity company in Chicago that is an owner of Florida Leisure, said ”a formal proposal” has been made, but did not disclose the amount. Analysts have said that the parks are worth about $1.3 billion. They include Sea World parks in four states, including Orlando.
