After a year covering TV, these are some things I know:
– Deborah Norville is not as bad as people think.
– Bryant Gumbel is worse.
– ”The American Experience” is the best documentary series on TV.
– ”Return to Green Acres” was better than ”The Love Boat: A Valentine Voyage.”
– The dancing dwarf on ”Twin Peaks” was the character of the year.
– When there is breaking news, watch CNN.
– The mini-series is in intensive care.
– Andrew Dice Clay will never have his own series.
– I will miss ”Elvis” and ”Anything But Love.”
– I do not miss Pat Sajak, Jackie Mason or ”Miami Vice.”
And these are some questions I still have:
– Is the local news as boring as it seems to be?
– Can ”Twin Peaks,” the series, be as good as ”Twin Peaks,” the seven-week experiment?
– Why is ”Saturday Night Live” so unfunny?
– Who watches ”Hunter” and why?
– If Carol Burnett can make a successful comeback, why not Dick Van Dyke? – Does anybody still miss ”Beauty and the Beast”?
– Who told Ray Sharkey he could act?
– Why aren`t there more shows-”Golden Girls” aside-about the elderly?
– When will Oprah, Geraldo, Joan, Sally Jessy and all the rest of the chat-fests hosts finally run out of guests?
– Joe Garagiola?
