A rare opportunity to view private Frank Lloyd Wright homes on Delavan Lake in Wisconsin is being planned for June 9. The home tour is a benefit fundraiser for the Aram Public Library in Delavan.
Besides visiting the homes, built between 1900 and 1905, the tour will include a slide presentation on how the architect`s designs have influenced 20th Century art and technology.

EXCURSION BY RAIL Rail buffs: A doozy of a train is pulling out of Chicago for a special trip. On July 7, Engine No. 1218, the world`s largest operating steam locomotive, will pull a special excursion train on a round trip from Chicago with stops in Hammond and Valparaiso, Ind., before reaching Ft. Wayne for the Three Rivers Festival, a celebration of entertainment and food.
Engine No. 1218 is the last survivor of the steam locomotives built by Norfolk & Western that powered 150-car coal trains over the Blue Ridge Mountains between Roanoke and Norfolk between 1936 and 1959.
The trip is being sponsored by the Chicago Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society, in cooperation with Norfolk Southern Corp.
Tickets are $69 for adults; $50 for children 12 and under (children 3 and under ride free when not occupying a seat). Some first-class seats in private cars are available for $130. The price includes brunch and a buffet supper.

CANADIAN DEALS Until June 15, Air Canada has special roundtrip airfares between Chicago and the Canadian cities of Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa.
