This will be among the first of what I hope will be a growing legion of letters of opposition to the domed stadium plan. So far I have identified McCaskey, Daley and Thompson as people who want to build the indoor arena. I can`t figure out who else wants it.
Most of my fellow Bears season ticket holders don`t want a roof or plastic grass or even 72-degree weather. I would prefer to watch the Bears in the rubble of a time-eroded Soldier Field.
The patients who cannot get needed improvements in the health system, the drivers who cannot get their roads fixed, the victims of drug-related crime who cannot get adequate law enforcement, the AIDS patients who can get little help in the form of medical assistance or funded AIDS research-none of these is clamoring for a new funhouse.
Once again it is time to make ourselves heard in Springfield. Help doom McDome.
