Mona Charen`s thesis on the cause of young adults` apathy and disinterest in world events was the most interesting and laughable charge against liberals I have read, even in her column.
As a ”liberal” under 30, I find that high school history books generally do not have a big effect on young people. I think a parent`s example is a much stronger and longer-lasting influence. However, if conservatives are unhappy with liberal teachers, perhaps they should give up their high-status careers in big money businesses (such as the savings and loan industry), and join the dedicated group of professionals who teach.
