School Supt. Ted Kimbrough has suggested extending the school day by 30 minutes.

This would cost at least $2,000 per teacher, per year. In an elementary school of 25 teachers that equates to $50,000 a year; in a school of 50 teachers, $100,000 a year!

Just think, every elementary school in our system could hire at least one science teacher and materials for a lab with that money.

Wouldn`t it be wonderful for every school to have a science room, where the children could participate in a hands-on situation under the direction of a qualified teacher?

Quality education is what our children would receive. Isn`t that what it`s all about?
