Perhaps the best way to bring Saddam Hussein to his senses would be to cut off Iraq`s principal water supplies-in Turkey, where the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers start. The latter also flows through Syria.
Giving a few billion dollars to these countries to reduce the flow of the rivers to just a trickle would be far better than shedding the blood of thousands of Americans and our allies.
