David J. Tamminga, 66, a Near North Side architect, died Monday in Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Mr. Tamminga worked for a number of architectural firms including, Bertrand Goldberg and Burnham & Hammond, and was a former vice president of Childs & Smith, which later became Ellerbe Beckett Inc. He was a World War II Army veteran. Mr. Tamminga is survived by his wife, Helen; a step-daughter, Patricia Sharp; two sisters; and two brothers. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 1035 N. Dearborn St.
