Chicago Heights water rates will more than triple under a new rate system adopted Monday by the City Council.
Under the new rates, residents will pay a minimum of $30 every two months, making the annual rate at least $180. Under the old rates, residents paid a minimum of $12 every quarter, making the annual minimum charge $48.
The rates will take effect May 1.
