Years ago, salads tended to be all vegetables or all fruits. Today, our tastes are more adventuresome, and this salad, combining strawberries, greens and onion with a poppy-seed dressing, is a favorite.

BERRIES AND GREENS SALAD

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Yield: 4 servings

3 tablespoons each: salad oil, honey

1 tablespoon vinegar

1 teaspoon poppy seeds

1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard

4 cups torn bibb or Boston lettuce

2 cups sliced strawberries

1 small onion, thinly sliced and separated into rings

1. For dressing, mix salad oil, honey, vinegar, poppy seeds and mustard in bottom of large salad bowl. Mix well. Add remaining ingredients; toss well. Serve immediately.
