More than 25 Lipizzan horses will appear in an enchanting performance of the ”Ballet of the White Stallions” at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Tempel Farms.

Mares with their frolicsome foals and young energetic stallions who are in the early stages of training will join the sophisticated Lipizzan horses in performances of medieval cavalry maneuvers.

Tempel Smith and his wife, Esther, imported the first 20 Lipizzan horses from Austria at the end of the 1950s. By the summer of 1982 the herd had grown to more than a third of the world`s entire population of the rare horses. Today, the Tempel Lipizzans are the largest privately owned herd.

Following the performance, visitors are invited to tour the horses`

mahogany and brass stables to see the prized rare stallions up close.

The Tempel Farms is located at 17000 W. Wadsworth Road in Wadsworth. The admission prices are $10 for adults and $5 for children 4-14, and free for children under 4. For more information, call 708-623-7272.
