Reader Howard Lichten (Voice of the people, Dec. 25) thinks that Danville company`s employees ought to swallow their pride and take half a loaf rather than let their jobs go to Mexico.

Let me introduce you to the real world, Mr. Lichten: I`ll bet you dimes to dollars that even if they took a paycut and freeze, the company would still move to Mexico at the end of the three years. And with that kind of cut and freeze, there wouldn`t even have been a half a loaf left.

When the greedy manufacturers and Wall Street finally run off all the middle-class workers, they`re going to find that there is no one left to buy their products. That`s real smart management.
