I read in the Jan. 3 Tribune the headline ”Hard times for children in U.S.: Study cites 3 decades of family decline.” Is it any wonder that our schools are having difficulty educating our children?
I suggest the main problem is societal. Unless we change our values from the short-term-quick-fix-what-are-you-doing-for-me-today attitude back to the work ethic about which we were so proud when I was a child, then there will be no significant improvement in the changing values we see in our children.
