James Jay Miller and Donna Howley Orr announce the engagement of their daughter, Shannon Marie Miller, to David Andrew DiPietro, a son of Carl and Audrey DiPietro of Bethesda, Md.
The future bride attended Florida State University and has a bachelor`s degree in vocal performance from the University of Maryland. She is a data-entry operator at Digital Equipment Corp. in Landover, Md.
Her father, a resident of Chicago, is chairman and CEO of Murphy and Miller, a heating and air-conditioning business. Her mother lives in Nashville and is a bookkeeper.
The future bridegroom attended the University of Maryland. He is an appraiser with Mid-Atlantic Appraisal Corp. in Greenbelt, Md.
His father is vice president of human resources at Marriott Corp. His mother is in real estate sales.
A May wedding is planned.
