Dr. William Morain`s well-stated Op-Ed article Feb. 6, ”The hysteria over breast implants,” men-tioned Dr. Sidney Wolfe of the Public Citizen Health Research Group, his objections to silicone breast implants and the FDA`s overreaction in its ban.
What the author did not mention was this group is heavily promoting and selling $750 silicone breast implant liti-gation kits. The more contro-versy and publicity there is, the more kits are sold. If the group was interested in benefiting ”citizen health,” I would suspect these kits would be sold for printing costs only. To me, this seems like a Class A scam which brings into question the sincerity of the group`s charges against the implant
manufacturer.
